Giving Notice about Vacating

If you want to vacate before the fixed term of your Tenancy Agreement has expired (ie ‘break you lease’) find out how by ‘clicking’ here.    Normally however to end your tenancy, you will just need to give us written notice by post or email.

  • You can use the email form under the tab called Contact Us on this web-site.  
  • Tell us your name and address and the date you will vacate.
  • Tell us how to contact you regarding your final rent or the bond and the final inspection.
  • We may also contact you regarding access in the 2 weeks before you leave to show the property to new prospective tenants.


How much notice you must give depends on the exact circumstances:

  • At the end of the fixed term of your Tenancy Agreement
    If you want to end your tenancy when the original fixed term period (eg 6 months or 12 months) is due to run out, you  will need to give at least 14 days written notice. This notice can be given at any time, up to and including the last day of the original fixed term.
  • After the fixed term period of your Tenancy Agreement
    If you want to end your tenancy after the original 6 or 12 month fixed term has ended, and you have not signed another Agreement, you will need to give at least 21 days notice.
    This notice can be given at any time and does not need to line up with the rent cycle. We will calculate the exact rent owing up until the day you remove all your possessions and return the keys.

 

Return of the bond

  • Pay your rent up until the day you vacate. When you have completed vacating and cleaning, we will inspect the property, taking into account the original condition, as per your initial Property Condition Report.
  • All the tenants who signed the original Bond Lodgement form will need to sign the Bond refund form.
  • If you provide bank account details on the form, the Bond Board will directly deposit the return of the bond.
